Yosemite | Spring + Winter = Sprinter

It took a little longer to get these on the blog due to a broken finger on my mouse/pen/edit hand thanks to my crazy puppy but I’m finally getting a few processed from our camping trip last month to Yosemite. A group of us spent a few days camping in Yosemite Valley and for 3 in the group it was their first time anywhere near Yosemite. What could be nicer than spring time in Yosemite right !! Flowers blooming, green meadows, bears, deer, water falls raging, the smell of the pines, riding bikes around the valley floor.  We started with a quick hike up to Mirror lake which wasn’t full of water yet and then headed back to camp for some wine, dinner and a campfire.

That’s when the “The Storm” hit. We went from wearing shorts to wearing snowboard gear in about 30mins. We came prepared but it was still freaking cold out. Lows around 20.. brr, and I highly recommend visiting Yosemite when mother nature is at her worst, there are less people:)

The first two shots are from our “Springtime experience, the remaining are from our “Winter experience”.

On the Mirror lake loop trail, up towards the foot bridge.

Mirror Lake Meadow area.  Bridgett writing in her journal about how her first trip to Yosemite is insanely awesome as we hang out inside the Ahwahnee drinking warm cocktails and warming up by the monster fireplaces while taking a break the dumping snow.

A little voice inside my head kept telling me to “come out and play”

The Ahwahnee from out in the meadow looking like the inside of a snow globe.

Half Dome on day 3.  The storm looked like it was getting ready to break up, the temps were warmer and it stopped snowing or raining on us. I waited for two hours for the clouds to reveal a little more of Half Dome but it never happened.

And we the day we head for home we wake up to blue skies and some incredible views of what the storm left behind.
