Hula Dance | Event

Helped a fellow photographer out Sat night photographing a Hula dance show and wanted to post a few images up on the blog before I get busy with another shoot this week. This took place in a high school auditorium so no Hawaiian beaches or oceans for you.

The music and dancers made me want to go BBQ and hang out on the beach when it was all done, oh I also learned a new song  “Pineapple Princess”, may have to hook that one up on the IPod.

Anyway here are a few for now, I’ll post some more later in the week.

They wouldn’t allow fire to be used inside the school so they used some LED balls for the Poi. I couldn’t get her as sharp as I wanted due to lighting issues, but it’s still a pretty cool picture.  She was twirling a single ball (Poi) in each hand but as you can see in the photograph it was changing colors pretty fast..  May have to sell those at the Del Mar fair next year:)
